Sunday, May 11, was a day of great joy and celebration for the parish family of St. Nicholas, Barberton. Prior to the start of Liturgy, two adults, Danielle Thomson, and Joel Wozny, received Baptism and Chrismation from the hand of his Grace, Bishop John. The bishop then concelebrated the Divine Liturgy with our pastor, Fr. Miron Kerul’-Kmec, and Fr. Miron’s brother, Fr. Stefan, who with his wife is visiting from Slovakia.
At the conclusion of the liturgy, the parish family honored Bishop John in the celebration of his 40th anniversary of priestly ordination. On behalf of the parish, representatives of the various parish organizations came forward to present various gifts to the bishop. It is our hope that the many spiritual bouquets of prayers offered will provide assistance to our bishop in guiding the eparchy.
Following the services, everyone enjoyed a delicious breakfast courtesy of the St. George Men’s. Also, in celebration of Mother’s Day, the mothers of the parish received flowers from the men’s group.
