The feast of St. Nicholas is the chosen time when the parish of St. Nicholas, Barberton, gives an award to a parishoner that exemplifies the charitable characteristics of the Saint in giving of one's service to our Lord and His church.
For 2011, this third annual St. Nicholas award was presented to Joseph Senderak. Joe was honored for his tireless work and service to most everything that occurs at the church. In addition to being the sacristan and serving on the advisory board, Joe is a wealth of knowledge about the physical structure of the facility, and never shies away from any work necessary to keep the building in good repair.
In accepting this award, Joe expressed his philosophy that time is not measured by the years that we live, but by the deeds that we do and the happiness in which they are done.
